How to Outsource Parts of Your Internet Business

One of my favorite topics to discuss is outsourcing.

You’d be amazed how thinking about outsourcing and where to begin outsourcing flummoxes everyone from the newest newbies to the seasoned gurus and everyone in between.

Buy why? Why is it so very confusing? Most of us manage to outsource quite nicely in our day to day lives.

I oftentimes pose these questions to my coaching clients –

When you go to a restaurant, do you head back into the kitchen and cook your own food? (That’s just silly.)

And, if your appendix burst right now, would you go online to find out how to remove it yourself? (Please say “no”.)

Of course not!

But, why do we think it’s ok to do everything ourselves in our businesses?

I can’t figure out what it is, but I think I’m starting to narrow it down.

* Fear of losing control.
* Not knowing who to outsource work to. (Needing a recommendation.)
* Not wanting to take the time to outsource. (You think: “It’s quicker to do it myself.”)
* Costs. (Oftentimes, though, you can get help for a lot less than you think it’ll cost.)
* Lack of confidence in ourselves.
* Lack of confidence in the potential of our business.
No matter which of those it is, there comes a point with all of us, where you HAVE to outsource — at least if you ever want to be able to go on a real vacation where you leave the internet behind and relax with your loved ones.

I know. I know. If you’ve been following me for any amount of time – you’ve heard this song and dance before. BUT! While outsourcing isn’t perfect, it’s a heck of a lot better than putting the chains on your wrists from a job that you’ve created for yourself – one where you can’t escape.

So, my #1 tip for outsourcing is to try it.

Choose something small and work from there.

  • Submitting some articles that you’ve written to the article directories.
  • Finding blogs to guest post on and contacting the owners.
  • Answering some emails regarding customer issues.
  • Graphics to promote your products.

It really doesn’t matter where you start. The big thing is taking that first step so that you can enjoy the FREEDOM that comes with the online lifestyle.

Start small. Don’t go crazy. But, when you find someone who you work well with – build on that relationship so you have access to great people who know your style and who you’re comfortable working with. When I need a project done, I have my own personal rolodex of fabulously skilled people who I turn to on a regular basis. Not only does it save me time – but it also helps me to get great prices because they already know what I like, they know that I’m easy to work with and that I pay on time.

6 Reasons why you Should Sell your Ebook on Clickbank

Clickbank.com has paid out nearly $2 Billion to online business owners just like you in the last 10 years – and that number is growing fast. Yet, for a lot of marketers, Clickbank has a bad rap. I’d like to spend the next 2 minutes showing you why you absolutely should sell your ebook on Clickbank.

Who does this article apply to?

* If you’re currently selling your product with a simple paypal button. Consider switching to Clickbank.
* If you have a shopping cart (like 1ShoppingCart.com) that you’re using to sell your products. Consider also setting up a separate page or URL where you sell your product on Clickbank.

Here’s why…

Diversification of your Payments.
You may not be aware of this, but PayPal.com has been known to “freeze” accounts while looking into them after they’ve been flagged by one of their employees. While Paypal.com is a trusted company, they do have to watch out for their own interests. So, if this happens to you, your account will not be accessible during that time. That means you can’t withdraw money, you can’t pay affiliates, and you can’t process refunds. You’re stuck. I don’t know about you, but I have bills to pay – which is why I recommend that you also sell products via a secondary payment method like Clickbank. They pay via direct deposit into your Checking account every 2 weeks, like clockwork. If, heaven forbid, your account gets flagged by Paypal – you’ll be able to pay your mortgage while getting it cleared.

Less Book-Keeping.
With Clickbank, you get paid weekly or when you reach a certain dollar amount that you’ve set. That means that you can pay less in accounting fees – because you’ll have a maximum of FOUR transactions per month, assuming you’re getting paid weekly. Compare that to using a paypal button or shopping cart – where every single transaction has to be entered by your bookkeeper – and you can see the advantage.

100,000 + Sales Force.
Yes, Clickbank has the eye of over 100,000 registered affiliate niche marketers in 145 countries. Many of these affiliate search the Clickbank marketplace first when looking for products to promote. If you’re not listed there, they can’t find you.

Clickbank’s HopAds Program.
You may be familiar with Google Adsense, but, did you know that Clickbank also has an advertising program? As a vendor, you can create Ads that automatically show on affiliate websites – based upon keywords. So, if your ebook is about “Saving Money on Groceries” and someone with a frugal or homemaking site puts the HopAd on their site with keywords “grocery” or “save money” – your ad may display in rotation with the other ads – as long as that ad is live on their site.

Hands Off Affiliate Management.
If you’re using your own shopping cart like 1ShoppingCart.com then you have to manage your affiliates or hire someone to do so. While this is definitely a profitable thing to do, some tasks can be a nuisance, like collecting W-9 forms (if you’re in the United States) for taxes. If you sell through Clickbank, that’s not an issue. They handle it for you.

Affiliate Payment Safety Cushion.
If you’re selling your products through your own shopping cart, then every month, you have to make sure to keep a “cushion” in your paypal account so that you have enough money to pay them. That’s not an issue with Clickbank. You ONLY receive your profits after affiliates have been paid. And, Clickbank handles paying them for you. You’re totally out of the loop.

There you have it. Six reasons why you should consider putting your ebook on Clickbank for sale.

Affiliate Marketers Need Great Landing Pages

Everyone who is in affiliate marketing believes that their number one goal is to drive traffic to their site. And–I wouldn’t turn any traffic away from my site, no–not at all. But that is only one part of the equation. In this article we will look at the other critical factor on your landing page–how well it converts.

So you want to make sales online, either promoting your product or someone else’s. What it all boils down to really is this: Can your sales page convert visitors into buyers? All the traffic in the world doesn’t amount to a hill of beans unless your page converts.

What is a satisfactory conversion rate? One percent may be okay, but I’d shoot for more than that. If you can get a 3-4% conversion rate that means two things: You’ve got well-targeted traffic, and–your sales page is getting the conversions you need.

Now, a lot of times people will start out and create their own sales page. They hope it converts well and if it doesn’t they will tweak it every few days until it converts better. But what if you can’t get it to convert better?

Well, that may be because you are getting a lot of low quality traffic to your site… you know–tire kickers instead of buyers. Depending on how you are driving traffic to your site, perhaps you can use other methods to try to bring in a higher caliber of prospects.

The other thing to consider is your sales page itself. You may bringing in high-quality traffic, but you just don’t have the juice on your sales copy to make conversion. Here is what I do in that case.

I will do a Google search for the main keyword I am using to bring traffic to my site. You may have several keywords or phrases–but focus on the main one. Okay, now I really don’t care about the organic listings that come up–I only care about the AdWords ads appearing at the right of the page.

These people are paying for traffic. If their ads keep popping up on the first few pages of Google day after day, they must be making money (making conversions) or they would halt their campaign.

So go through every ad that appears on the first 4-5 pages of Google for your keyword and see what their landing page looks like. What are they doing that you are not? Are they giving away huge bonuses? Is their product prices higher or lower than yours? Do they have better graphics? How are they engaging the visitor and keeping them on board until the get to the “Click Here” button at the bottom of the page?

You can learn a lot from the competition and the education is free. Study your competitors and incorporate their best ideas into your own pitch page and you will experience higher conversions and more profits.
